Key Responsibilities

  • •Design and build the ingest path from capture rigs to cloud storage, handling partial uploads, flaky networks, and mid-session hardware failures.
  • •Build transcoding and normalization pipelines to convert heterogeneous rig output into consistent, analysis-ready media.
  • •Time-synchronize multi-camera video with telemetry and sensor streams into coherent, labeled episodes.
  • •Automate video quality checks to flag unusable sessions before they reach customers/robotics labs.
  • •Design dataset versioning, lineage, indexing, and delivery (packaging, integrity verification, access control) while improving cost per captured hour and observability.

Key Requirements

  • •5+ years building and operating production video or media processing systems at scale.
  • •Hands-on production experience with FFmpeg, GStreamer, or an equivalent media framework, including debugging under load.
  • •Strong fluency in codecs and containers, including practical tradeoffs (e.g., H.264/HEVC/AV1, MP4/fMP4).
  • •Strong understanding of distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, object storage, and observability.
  • •Experience with durable workflow orchestration and production operations (e.g., Temporal, Conductor, Step Functions, Airflow).
