Job Summary

Perform diagnostic, mechanical, and cosmetic repairs on customer and internal vehicles while meeting CarMax safety and quality standards. Inspect vehicles, complete required state inspections, and manage repair orders with accurate labor, parts, and billing documentation. Work with proprietary and universal software systems, follow CarMax 5S and Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) requirements, and provide functional expertise to support associates and managers.

Key Responsibilities

•Perform accurate diagnostics and complete mechanical and cosmetic repairs on all vehicle systems.
•Inspect vehicles to meet CarMax Quality Standards and complete state inspections when required.
•Manage repair orders, ensuring accuracy in labor, parts, and billing documentation.
•Utilize proprietary and universal software systems.
•Maintain a clean, organized workspace and follow CarMax 5S, safety protocols, and Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) requirements; provide leadership and functional expertise to support associates and managers.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 22.2 - 33.3 hourly

Key Requirements

•Completion of CarMax New Associate Orientation and Kronos Training for Hourly Associates.
•Ability to read, interpret, and transcribe data accurately for record-keeping.
•Strong multitasking ability in a high-energy, fast-paced environment.
•Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods, including flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
•ASE certifications where required by State/Local law for specific areas (Steering and Suspension, Brakes, Heating Air Conditioning, Electrical, Engine Repair, Manual Drive Train and Axles, Engine Performance, Automatic Transmission/Transaxle).
