Key Responsibilities

  • •Define and own the common DC bus architecture, including interconnection topology, sectionalizing, protection/coordination, grounding/isolation scheme, and sizing margins.
  • •Own the expansion architecture for scaling from single units to multi-reactor plants, including paralleling strategy, fault isolation, protection selectivity, and control hierarchy.
  • •Integrate and verify high-voltage system functions as an end-to-end system (battery management, bus precharge, insulation monitoring, power quality, grid-forming/following, controlled/emergency shutdown, load shed, black-start, and failover communications).
  • •Own fault behavior across key cases (load drop/rejection, short circuit, isolation/ground faults, converter faults) with proof of protection coordination and control response.
  • •Define and drive power distribution test infrastructure and campaigns at Antares HQ, convert test results into design decisions, and manage power electronics supplier relationships.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or related field).
  • •5+ years in power electronics or high power electrical systems with ownership of system architecture through hardware bring-up.
  • •Experience designing DC bus architectures interconnecting multiple sources/loads, including protection/coordination, grounding/isolation, and fault current analysis.
  • •Hands-on experience with grid-tied inverters, DC/DC conversion, and battery energy storage integration.
  • •Experience specifying, evaluating, and managing power electronics suppliers and leading high-power electrical test campaigns, including troubleshooting energized high-voltage systems.
