Key Responsibilities

  • •Architect, design, and optimize complex active and passive silicon photonic integrated circuits (PICs).
  • •Develop and execute PIC chip design plans through layout, tape-out, test, validation, and performance debugging.
  • •Collaborate cross-functionally with foundries, validation teams, manufacturers, and quality/reliability groups to deliver reliable solutions.
  • •Conduct data analysis for reliability, qualification, and delivery of known-good-die solutions.
  • •Drive HVM enablement flows and create technical documentation and test content supporting the silicon photonics chip lifecycle.

Key Requirements

  • •Master's degree in a relevant field with 8+ years of industry experience, or a PhD with 6+ years of industry experience.
  • •Experience developing photonic-integrated-circuits from concept through high-volume manufacturing (HVM).
  • •Experience designing, simulating, and testing complex PICs, including link budget analysis, electrical power/back-reflection budgets, and Monte Carlo models.
  • •Hands-on familiarity with optical design/simulation tools such as Lumerical (FDTD, MODE, DEVICE, Interconnect) and/or RSoft, Tidy3D, Harold, Photon Design; also Matlab or Python for numerical simulation.
  • •Experience contributing to or leading PIC tape-outs and familiarity with layout tools such as Cadence, KLayout, Synopsys Optocompiler, or GDSFactory.
