Key Responsibilities

  • •Build and enhance the media transformation engine (resizing, format conversion, and video processing) using FFmpeg and native libraries via Node.js and occasionally C++.
  • •Design, operate, and simplify services on Kubernetes (EKS), including Helm charts, deployments, and alerting.
  • •Improve async bulk-processing capabilities with job queues, autoscaling for spiky workloads, and fairness between customers.
  • •Keep the delivery path fast and cost-efficient by working with the caching and CDN layer (Varnish, HAProxy, CloudFront).
  • •Participate in code reviews and document designs, decisions, and runbooks for sustained team knowledge.

Key Requirements

  • •Experience designing, building, and maintaining scalable backend and background processing services (Node.js, TypeScript, Go, or similar).
  • •Operate your own production services on Kubernetes, including Helm, monitoring, and debugging live systems.
  • •Strong AWS architecture/infrastructure experience focused on performance and cost optimization for S3, CloudFront, Lambda, and ALB at scale.
  • •Comfortable with Docker and Linux; able to read, compile, and debug native C++ when the engine misbehaves.
  • •Experience with media pipelines (FFmpeg, codecs, image/video processing) is a plus; HDR/video expertise especially so.
