Job Summary

Build and iterate on Smartsheet’s Workflow Builder end-to-end, connecting a drag-and-drop frontend experience to scalable backend execution. Work across React-based UI rendering, high-performance REST/GraphQL APIs, and distributed microservices in a multi-cloud environment (primarily AWS). Optimize full-stack performance, ensure accessibility, and deliver robust unit/integration/E2E testing. Mentor engineers and apply AI-assisted development and agentic workflows to enhance customer value.

Key Responsibilities

•Own, build, and iterate on the Workflow Builder across the entire stack, ensuring seamless connection between frontend interactions and backend execution.
•Drive system design, data modeling, and API contracts so the drag-and-drop editor scales for enterprise workloads.
•Build production-grade visual features with React (v18+), advanced state management, concurrent rendering, and performance tuning (virtualization, code-splitting).
•Develop and maintain secure, high-availability backend services and microservices in a multi-cloud environment (primarily AWS), including REST or GraphQL APIs.
•Monitor and optimize full-stack performance, write comprehensive automated tests, mentor engineers, and contribute to roadmap planning and architectural discussions.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: EUR 58,250 - 69,750

Key Requirements

•5+ years of professional software engineering experience shipping production-grade full-stack web applications.
•Deep experience in at least one major back-end language (Java, Kotlin, Go, or Python) plus relational/non-relational databases and distributed cloud architectures (AWS).
•Proficiency with React (v17+), TypeScript, HTML5, and modern CSS layout systems (Grid, Flexbox, Custom Properties).
•Strong understanding of API design and frontend state management patterns (Redux Toolkit, Zustand, Jotai, or React Query).
•Experience writing reliable unit, integration, and end-to-end tests across the application stack, plus fluency in English and legal eligibility to work in Bulgaria.
