Job Summary

Perform DOT inspections and preventive maintenance for light, medium, and heavy-duty trucks and trailers in a mobile/field environment. Diagnose and repair electrical, brake, cooling, steering, engine, transmission, and other mechanical issues using test equipment, tools, and road testing. Maintain parts inventory and service documentation via a company iOS device and TRAIT app, while ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations. Travel is required 100% of the time.

Key Responsibilities

•Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile environment.
•Diagnose, adjust, and repair mechanical and electrical systems using test instruments and road testing.
•Independently manage parts inventory and equipment on the company-issued service truck, including periodic reconciliation.
•Maintain and operate the service truck, conduct safety checks, and complete daily pre-/post-trip inspections.
•Document findings and complete DOT and repair order documentation using a company-issued iOS device and TRAIT application.

Travel: Extensive travel

Key Requirements

•High school diploma/GED with 3 years of related experience (or an equivalent combination such as 5 years’ experience).
•Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform the job.
•Obtain Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification T8 (PMI) within 18 months.
•Complete DOT-regulated pre-employment background screening and pass a DOT physical prior to employment.
•Maintain a current and valid DOT medical card and hold a valid driver’s license; candidates must be 21 or older.
