Job Summary

Serve as a senior VistA Transition subject matter expert supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs Health Portfolio during Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) deployments. Analyze VistA workflows and interfaces (including HL7), coordinate transition planning and cutover execution, and validate post-deployment readiness. Act as a technical liaison to implementation sites, using reporting and Grafana dashboards to monitor usage, assess impacts, and recommend next actions throughout remote, Agile deployments.

Key Responsibilities

•Analyze VistA applications, workflows, menus, HL7 interfaces, tasked jobs, security keys, and user access to assess transition impacts.
•Perform VistA usage analysis using enterprise reporting tools and Grafana dashboards to support transition planning and decision-making.
•Develop implementation playbooks, technical documentation, transition reports, and customer deliverables.
•Support site readiness assessments, deployment activities, cutover events, and post-implementation validation for assigned sites.
•Review post-deployment system activity and recommend additional transition actions based on usage data, operational findings, and customer feedback.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 135,000 - 145,000 annually

Key Requirements

•Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical discipline (or 10 years of relevant experience in lieu of the degree).
•10+ years supporting enterprise systems architecture, software engineering, or complex healthcare IT environments.
•Demonstrated expertise with VistA or comparable enterprise EHR platforms, including application architecture, workflows, system dependencies, and modernization initiatives.
•Experience analyzing application portfolios and supporting large-scale system transition or modernization efforts.
•Strong written/verbal communication, analytical, collaboration, and problem-solving skills in a remote and Agile environment.
