Job Summary

Lead and govern a major multi-year capital project for the UK & Ireland cement business, owning end-to-end delivery from ideation through concept, feasibility, approval, execution, commissioning, and handover. Coordinate internal and external stakeholders across technical, legal, procurement, finance, and contractors, while defining scope, technical specifications, delivery strategy, risk management, and transparent reporting to senior governance forums.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead development of a major capital project through ideation, concept, feasibility, and execution stages while meeting safety, budget, operational efficiency, schedule, and risk-management objectives.
•Coordinate and manage internal and external stakeholders across the full project lifecycle (e.g., technical, legal, procurement, finance; OEMs, designers, consultants, contractors).
•Ensure early identification, assessment, mitigation, and ongoing management of risks and opportunities throughout all phases of the project.
•Drive project concept/feasibility and approval activities by defining scope, justifying and approving against technical standards, financial criteria, and governance requirements.
•Support execution and close-out activities, including construction oversight, commissioning, performance validation, handover, communication/reporting, and contract claim/dispute resolution where required.

Key Requirements

•A degree in Engineering with at least 10 years’ experience in the cement industry, primarily within the engineering domain.
•Manage major project delivery across the full project lifecycle from ideation/concept through feasibility, execution, commissioning, and handover.
•Strong understanding of cement and concrete production processes, equipment, products, and technical challenges in the cement sector.
•5+ years of people management experience, setting and delivering objectives across medium to long time frames.
•Lead risk identification, assessment, mitigation and ongoing management across technical, commercial, regulatory, and operational dimensions, with strong communication to influence stakeholders.
