Job Summary

Own the geotechnical workstream for multi-site, multi-state data center development—from early site screening through foundation design and construction support. Key Responsibilities

•Own the geotechnical workstream across multi-site, multi-state development portfolios from early screening through foundation design and construction support.
•Scope and direct subsurface investigation programs, including writing geotechnical RFPs, managing boring and CPT campaigns, lab testing, and external consultants.
•Interpret subsurface data into design parameters and assign foundation systems with structural collaboration on bearing capacity, settlement, soil behavior, seismic site class, and ground improvement.
•Set site earthwork and grading strategy with civil, including cut/fill balance, pad risks, and decisions between regrade, preload, and ground improvement.
•Run geotechnical fatal-flaw screening during site selection and due diligence; coordinate with environmental on groundwater/contamination and Phase II findings and manage geotechnical deliverables to protect IFC and construction dates.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 200,000 - 250,000 annually

Key Requirements

•Own geotechnical engineering for large-scale site development, including scoping boring programs and turning subsurface data into foundation design parameters.
•Make foundation and ground-improvement decisions for difficult sites (deep fill, expansive clay, high groundwater, liquefaction), including selecting shallow foundations, piles, rigid inclusions, and surcharge.
•Direct external geotechnical consultants and labs from RFP through final report and catch errors before design or construction.
•Run geotechnical fatal-flaw screening during due diligence and either kill or save a site based on the data.
•Read geotechnical reports well enough to assign design actions and challenge consultants’ recommendations.
•Bonus: PE or GE license (or active pursuit), with data center/industrial/heavy-civil experience and seismic site response.
