Job Summary

Manage and troubleshoot VMware vSphere and Microsoft Hyper-V hypervisor environments. Perform advanced VM issue diagnosis (performance, snapshots, virtual NIC connectivity), handle VM lifecycle and datastore-level analysis, and support ESXi/Hyper-V patching and upgrades. Monitor host alerts, coordinate with storage teams, assist with vCenter/cluster permissions, and troubleshoot vMotion/live migration failures while mentoring junior engineers.

Key Responsibilities

•Troubleshoot VM-related issues including performance degradation, snapshot growth, and virtual NIC connectivity problems.
•Manage VM lifecycle operations such as provisioning/deprovisioning, hardware modifications, and clone/template deployments.
•Perform datastore-level analysis (space utilization, thin-provision monitoring, datastore alerts, pathing checks).
•Troubleshoot ESXi/Hyper-V host warnings and alerts; validate patching and upgrades for ESXi/Hyper-V.
•Coordinate storage-team activities for host/datastore-related issues, manage vCenter/cluster objects and permissions, troubleshoot vMotion/live migration failures, and mentor junior engineers.

Key Requirements

•2–3 years’ experience in virtualization/NOC roles.
•Strong understanding of vSphere/ESXi and Hyper-V host architecture and virtual networking.
•Basic command-line knowledge, including ESXCLI and PowerShell/PowerCLI basics.
•Familiarity with HA/DRS, VM templates, snapshots, and virtual switches.
•Preferred: VMware VCP-DCV (Associate preferred).
