Job Summary

Maintain and troubleshoot the manufacturing plant’s refrigeration, ammonia compressor systems, boiler, air compressors, and hot water systems to ensure safe, efficient operation. Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, testing, repairs, and emergency response participation. Ensure compliance with OSHA/EPA and follow ammonia safety precautions. Work in a physically demanding environment and complete required training and certification (including SCBA and ammonia-related modules).

Key Responsibilities

•Ensure safe and efficient operation of the plant refrigeration, boiler, air compressors, and hot water systems.
•Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, testing, troubleshooting, and repairs on ammonia compressor-related and control components.
•Maintain equipment to meet food industry temperature requirements.
•Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements, including OSHA and EPA, for ammonia-related hazards.
•Participate as an Emergency Response Team Member and perform other assigned duties.

Key Requirements

•1 year of industrial maintenance plus electrical training and 1 year of ammonia refrigeration or HVAC operator experience.
•Experience working with anhydrous ammonia systems, including mechanical and electrical repairs (Ammonia Response Training preferred).
•Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions and procedures.
•Familiarity with preventative maintenance programs and willingness to complete all required training.
•Able to obtain SCBA certification, pass IIAR training modules for ammonia refrigeration, and participate in emergency response.
•Have PSM experience.
•ARE able to travel and attend training (1-2 trips per year).
