Key Responsibilities

  • •Own the full technical strategy, architecture, and roadmap for the Monnify payment gateway across capability areas.
  • •Lead multiple engineering teams through engineering managers, setting quality standards and building organisational capability.
  • •Own the developer experience end-to-end, including APIs, documentation, SDKs, and integration ease.
  • •Drive platform evolution toward multi-currency and international scalability.
  • •Ensure platform reliability, scalability, and security in a regulated environment while partnering with product, commercial, and operations teams.

Key Requirements

  • •10+ years of software engineering experience, including 5+ years in engineering leadership roles.
  • •At least 5 years of hands-on, production-level experience writing and shipping Java in practice.
  • •At least 5 years of experience managing managers and leading an engineering organisation through engineering leaders.
  • •Experience in payments/fintech/financial services, including understanding payment flows and compliance.
  • •Strong backend skills in high-throughput, distributed transactional systems; experience building/operating a payment gateway or multi-currency platform is a plus.
