Key Responsibilities

  • •Coordinate, analyze, design, implement, and administer database server configuration and ongoing maintenance.
  • •Analyze client infrastructure and processes, recommending best practices to improve operational procedures and maximize uptime and recoverability.
  • •Administer backup procedures and disaster recovery plans, monitoring proactively, responding to alerts, and troubleshooting operational issues.
  • •Oversee backup, clustering, mirroring, replication, failover, and restoration of corrupted databases.
  • •Develop and review action plans for maintenance, deployment, and upgrades; participate in on-call rotation and prepare client status and incident reports.

Key Requirements

  • •Knowledge and experience installing, configuring, and upgrading Oracle databases and related Oracle administration tools.
  • •Experience automating with Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, Chef, or SALT.
  • •Ability to debug and troubleshoot methodically, identifying and applying fixes for known errors.
  • •Very good documentation skills.
  • •Nice to have: understanding IT service standards such as ITIL; experience with Oracle-related projects or other database/infrastructure software.
