Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop cost estimates for mining assets and related infrastructure across multiple project phases.
  • •Create estimates aligned to mining deliverables (e.g., Basis of Estimate, estimating plan, assumptions/exclusions, contingency methodology).
  • •Produce detailed cost estimates using appropriate methods (factored/parametric, unit-rate, first-principles) and prepare order-of-magnitude through change estimates.
  • •Build material, equipment, and labor take-offs from engineering deliverables and apply indirect/construction execution assumptions for mining environments.
  • •Perform cost comparison, benchmarking, and estimate reconciliation workshops; support bid packages and subcontractor bid analysis while quantifying cost/schedule risks.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in engineering (or related) plus 8 years of cost estimating experience in mining/industrial (or demonstrated equivalency).
  • •Extensive knowledge of cost estimating, construction methodologies, engineering design principles, and industry standards and best practices.
  • •Experience with class estimate frameworks for industrial/mining phases and documenting assumptions, contingency, and risk.
  • •Strong understanding of construction means, methods, and sequencing for industrial/mining sites, including brownfield and shutdown/turnaround constraints.
  • •Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, lead, execute, review, and present complex cost estimating assignments and projects.
