Key Responsibilities

  • •Maintain the effectiveness and continued development of the project HSSE management plan and support its application on the project.
  • •Lead and support the project HSSE team and provide direction to project management on HSSE matters.
  • •Develop and maintain the project HSSE execution plan, including an assurance strategy to monitor compliance and controls.
  • •Coordinate HSSE statistical reporting and data analysis to identify safety trends and recommend actions to prevent recurrence.
  • •Ensure HSSE orientation, stakeholder communication, and participation/facilitation of root cause analysis for major incidents when required.

Key Requirements

  • •Nationally recognized Health and Safety certification and/or a Degree in Occupational Safety & Health or a related field.
  • •15 years’ experience in a Project HSSE Leadership position, including at least 10 years’ related experience in the mining industry.
  • •Experience with heavy construction projects, including Brownfield projects, and formal training in Occupational Health, Safety, Environment and Risk Management.
  • •Strong knowledge of emergency response, occupational health, incident investigation, risk management, and behavioral based safety.
  • •Extensive experience overseeing HSSE Management System and HSSE Plans implementation by contractors and subcontractors on site; good Microsoft Office skills.
