Build and support scalable database platforms for a large, evolving database estate. Work across traditional enterprise systems like Sybase and DB2 while contributing to modernization efforts involving Snowflake and SingleStore. Perform performance tuning (query, indexing, workload, capacity), design and implement resilient database changes, and support migrations, version upgrades, patching, and cloud-based database development. Collaborate in a fast-paced Agile environment focused on speed, stability, and operational control.

Key Responsibilities

•Engineer and develop large-scale database platforms across Sybase, DB2, and newer database technologies.
•Perform performance tuning and optimization, including query tuning, indexing strategies, workload analysis, and capacity planning.
•Design, test, and implement database changes with a focus on resiliency, quality, and operational stability.
•Support database migration and modernization initiatives, including movement toward Snowflake and/or SingleStore where applicable.
•Execute database version upgrades, patching, and operational readiness improvements, and contribute to cloud-based database development with automation and scalability.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: CAD 80,000 - 85,000 annually

Key Requirements

•Intermediate knowledge of development and performance optimization across major RDBMS technologies, especially Sybase and DB2.

•Basic knowledge of Unix/Linux operating systems.
•Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work in a dynamic environment while maintaining quality, stability, and delivery timelines.
