Own Wise’s global card partnerships and strategy across Visa, Mastercard, issuer banks, and acquiring partners. Key Responsibilities

•Own executive relationships with Visa, Mastercard, issuer banking partners, and acquiring partners, aligning commercial strategy, product priorities, and expansion goals globally.
•Lead complex negotiations and commercial models across network economics, incentives, issuer partnerships, acquiring relationships, and long-term commercial frameworks.
•Define strategy for Wise’s global card programmes across issuing and card acceptance, improving the economics of customer card spend and Wise Account funding.
•Partner with regional Banking & Expansion teams to launch the Wise Card into new markets and legal entities, removing blockers and accelerating launches.
•Ensure card programmes remain compliant as Wise scales by working with Compliance, Financial Crime, and Legal on scheme rules, AML/financial crime requirements, issuer obligations, and local regulation.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: GBP 125,000 - 170,000 annually

Key Requirements

•Experience working directly with Visa and/or Mastercard, navigating large global organisations to execute commercial and expansion goals.
•Deep expertise in the global card ecosystem, including issuing, acquiring, scheme rules, network economics, commercial models, and payment acceptance.
•Negotiated complex commercial agreements with card schemes, issuer banks, or acquiring partners.
•Launched or scaled card programmes across multiple markets, working with schemes, regulators, and local banking partners.
•Comfortably work with Compliance, Legal, and Financial Crime teams to address regulatory and financial crime requirements underpinning card programmes.
