Job Summary

Originate residential first mortgage loans for branch offices and outside referrals while meeting sales and cross-selling objectives. Focus on selling CRA products and services to low- to moderate-income individuals and areas, plus non-profit organizations. Own the loan process from application through closing, manage risk within the bank’s appetite, and maintain strong customer experience through referrals, training seminars, documentation, and pipeline reporting. Requires SAFE Act registration via NMLS.

Key Responsibilities

•Develop CRA prospects and referral contacts, including realtors, builders, and other professional and personal contacts.
•Take mortgage applications by completing Fannie Mae Form 1003 and use a laptop to access daily rates, credit reports, Loan Prospector responses, and transmit loans to LOMAS.
•Collect documentation, deliver loan packages within management time frames, and manage the loan pipeline through closing.
•Communicate timely updates and progress reports to applicants and/or referral sources.
•Conduct homebuyer-training seminars and maintain participation in Consumer Lending meetings as required by management.

Key Requirements

•High school diploma or equivalent is mandatory; four-year college degree is preferred.
•Knowledge of conventional and/or government lending guidelines.
•Knowledge of residential mortgage processing, underwriting, and closing procedures.
•Knowledge of federal lending regulations governing real estate lending.
•Demonstrated organizational skills and strong written and verbal communication, teamwork, and customer service skills.
