Key Responsibilities

  • •Own and be the subject matter expert for fluid/HVAC components across campus, including compressors, heat exchangers, pumps, valves, and dust collection systems.
  • •Create CAD models and designs for these fluid systems.
  • •Perform fluid analyses for pressure balance, component design allowables, and consumables determination.
  • •Coordinate with interdisciplinary customers to ensure components meet production, avionics, GNC, mission operations, and other SpaceX program requirements.
  • •Ensure designs are manufacturable and reliable, partnering with production to transition to a stable manufacturing process with minimal design sustainment engineering required.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
  • •1+ years of professional experience working with fluids components such as valves, pumps, COPVs, compressors, heat exchangers, pressure transducers, or temperature sensors.
  • •Hands-on experience with fluid (liquid and/or gas) handling systems.
  • •Experience using test instrumentation and control components such as pressure transducers, thermocouples, resistance temperature detectors (RTDs), and relays.
  • •Experience using NX or other CAD packages with GD&T per ASME Y14.5-1994 and tolerance stack-up analysis.
