Key Responsibilities

  • •Respond to benefits compliance questions across health and welfare plans, including ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, ACA, MHPAEA, FMLA, and CAA 2021.
  • •Develop and maintain internal and external benefits compliance tools and resources.
  • •Draft compliance whitepapers and communications, and deliver seminars and webinars.
  • •Stay abreast of legislative and regulatory changes, including tracking developments for a set of states.
  • •Perform client compliance checklist reviews and own or co-own compliance initiatives; mentor or manage junior team members as needed.

Key Requirements

  • •Minimum 4 years of experience in employee benefits compliance.
  • •Deep knowledge of ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, ACA, MHPAEA, FMLA, CAA 2021, Transparency in Coverage rules, Section 125 plans, and state PFML and employee health and welfare benefit laws.
  • •Law degree preferred; prior experience with federal or state governmental regulatory bodies is a plus.
  • •CEBS designation (or equivalent industry experience) preferred.
  • •Exceptional writing, research, and presentation skills, including leading webinars and producing clear compliance content for a non-legal audience.
