Biologist II (Hybrid)

Support USGS research by performing ecological field sampling of aquatic biological communities, including taxonomic identification of freshwater macroinvertebrates. Collect and manage habitat, water-quality, and contaminant-pathway samples, then process materials in a laboratory setting. Use data analysis tools like R and Python to conduct QA/QC, integrate biological, chemical, and hydrologic datasets, and create figures and reports. Work includes extensive outdoor fieldwork and occasional overnight trips.
