Key Responsibilities

  • •Supervise the creation of character models (hero, secondary, background) that align with the Director’s and Art Director’s vision and the show’s visual style.
  • •Interpret design intent with Art Director and Character Designers, maintaining consistency of proportion, style, and appeal.
  • •Lead character modeling reviews and provide clear, constructive feedback on form, anatomy, silhouette, topology, and overall quality.
  • •Ensure character models meet technical requirements and pipeline standards for Rigging, Surfacing, CFX, and Animation integration.
  • •Mentor and support character modelers, identifying training needs and contributing to performance feedback and skill development.

Key Requirements

  • •Significant experience as a Character Modeler in feature animation, VFX, or high-end series, including time in a Lead or Supervisory role.
  • •A strong portfolio demonstrating excellence in character modeling (stylized and/or realistic), with clear understanding of anatomy, form, and appeal.
  • •Proficiency in modeling and sculpting tools such as Maya and ZBrush (additional tools a plus).
  • •Strong understanding of how character models interact with Rigging, Surfacing, CFX, and Animation within a production pipeline.
  • •Great communication and leadership skills, with the ability to give clear, constructive feedback and collaborate across departments.
