•Define, lead, and contribute to the evolution of core search and indexing capabilities for Elasticsearch.
•Research advances in search infrastructure, data structures, and retrieval algorithms to build efficient foundations for users.
•Collaborate with partners and product teams to shape the long-term technical vision for search at Elastic.
•Drive the roadmap for Elasticsearch’s indexing, query execution, and relevance layers based on past experience with large-scale search systems.
•Serve as an authority in multiple Elasticsearch domains and continuously improve them through insights and collaboration with engineers.

•Experience leading technical projects in the search infrastructure and distributed systems space with a track record of building and operating high-performance search platforms.
•Experience mentoring expert engineers and providing technical and professional guidance.
•Experience defining a long-term technical vision for a core search or retrieval system across teams to shape the roadmap.
•Hands-on experience with search and indexing technologies such as Elasticsearch, Lucene, or Solr.
•Strong Java skills with knowledge of advanced data structures, concurrency, and modern Java features such as lambdas.
