Key Responsibilities

  • •Learn, demonstrate capability, and become certified in all farm department areas, including wean-to-finish production requirements.
  • •Implement company systems for pig production such as animal flow, farm health, genetics, and husbandry practices.
  • •Work as a team member to meet daily work requirements and farm goals.
  • •Develop and maintain relationships with personnel and management and prepare required reports with improvement opportunities.
  • •Maintain compliance with environmental laws and company IPS, biosecurity, animal welfare, and EMS policies; report environmental/animal care/biosecurity issues immediately to a supervisor.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science or related field, or an equivalent education/experience combination.
  • •Company may consider a currently enrolled student with anticipated graduation by end of the current school year.
  • •Experience acting as a lead by providing training, coaching, or mentoring, or managing a process or project.
  • •Valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving record per company policy.
  • •Ability to work an average 45-hour week (about 9 hours/day), including weekends, evenings, holidays, and being on call for emergencies.
