Job Summary

Deliver high-quality undergraduate and graduate teaching within the Public Health and Epidemiology Department while developing and updating curricula. Conduct impactful research in environmental epidemiology and related areas, producing publications, presenting at conferences, and securing external funding and grants. Supervise students’ research and theses, mentor early-career researchers, and contribute to departmental and university service through committees, outreach, and professional engagement.

Key Responsibilities

•Teach at undergraduate and graduate levels, including preparing course outlines, syllabi, and lesson plans, and revising subject matter regularly.
•Contribute to the development, planning, and implementation of a high-quality curriculum and provide detailed instruction and evaluation methods for students.
•Supervise students’ research and practical work, including thesis preparation and participation in thesis evaluation.
•Carry out research and produce publications or other research outputs aligned with agreed objectives, and deliver papers at professional meetings.
•Identify and bid for external funding and grants, and participate in departmental or university-wide committees, outreach, and student recruitment/retention efforts.

Key Requirements

•A strong record of peer-reviewed publications in high-impact journals in environmental epidemiology, environmental health, or population health.
•Demonstrated expertise in environmental exposure assessment, including areas such as air pollution, climate change and health, built environment and urban health, chemical/occupational exposures, and environmental determinants of chronic and infectious diseases.
•Experience conducting population-based epidemiological studies using cohort, cross-sectional, or case-control designs.
•Strong proficiency in advanced statistical and epidemiological methods, including longitudinal data analysis, spatial epidemiology, time-series analysis, and causal inference methods.
•PhD (or equivalent terminal degree) in Environmental Epidemiology, Epidemiology, Public Health, or a closely related discipline; minimum 8 years of academic or research experience (with at least 5 years at Assistant Professor level or equivalent research leadership).
