Job Summary

Lead the Advanced Processing optics manufacturing group (Coating, Bonding, Contacting, Etch and Lithography) in Wilton, CT, overseeing 15+ technicians across multiple work centers. Drive production scheduling, KPI attainment, coaching and development, and continuous improvement with Production Engineering to deliver high-quality optics on a compressed work week Front End schedule.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead a team of 15+ optical technicians across multiple work centers to deliver precision optics while meeting or exceeding KPIs (5S safety; first pass yield; on-time delivery; lead time; labor efficiency; upskilling).
•Set up a detailed production schedule within Manufacturing Plan constraints and available resources; provide recovery plans and inform relevant parties of deviations.
•Coach and mentor technicians; develop professional development action plans and cross-train to build competencies.
•Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives; partner with Production Engineering to improve processes for efficiency and quality.
•Administer time and attendance records, conduct performance/merit reviews, enforce policies, and support employee relations with HR.

Travel: Low travel

Key Requirements

•Bachelor's or Associate’s Degree in Business or Manufacturing Operations preferred; high school diploma required.
•A minimum of 10 years in a technical production/manufacturing environment; 5+ years in a leadership role with direct people management.
•Experience in Production Management, Quality Assurance, and Continuous Improvement.
•Experience with Lean Manufacturing is required. Six Sigma Green Belt preferred.
•Computer proficiency with MS Outlook 365 applications, with knowledge of SAP or comparable ERP system.
