Job Summary

Permitting Specialist in the Rochester, NY area supporting Ecology & Environment projects. You’ll review project scopes, determine applicable permits, coordinate with federal, state and local agencies, develop SWPPPs, ensure regulatory compliance, and participate in cross-functional project teams across multiple NY locations in a hybrid role.

Key Responsibilities

•Review project scope and determine applicable permits including municipal building permits, variances, special use permits, stream and wetland permitting.
•Coordinate consultations (PSC Article VII/Part 102, Army Corps, Natural Heritage, SHPO, coastal zone development, DOT, FAA, etc.) and develop environmental permits.
•Manage progress against plans, conduct risk assessment, and mitigate risks; ensure compliance with federal, state and local environmental regulations.
•Participate in project teams, planning, execution and delivery meetings; represent the company at regulatory or public meetings.
•Oversee implementation and inspection of wildlife, agriculture or wetland mitigation and develop SWPPPs; conduct inspections and environmental monitoring as required.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, Natural Resource Management, or a related sciences field.
•3+ years of experience obtaining Regulatory Permits with state, federal and municipal agencies to achieve permits to meet project goals and execution schedules.
•Experience in preparing, editing and interpreting studies for development, submission and acquisition of regulatory filings.
•Experience working in a team environment to site facilities in the energy sector, minimizing environmental, visual and customer impacts.
•Authorized to work in the United States, or able to obtain work authorization; visa sponsorship is available for eligible candidates.
