Key Responsibilities

  • •Manage and support pending and threatened litigation, investigations, and regulatory enforcement matters for the Legal Department.
  • •Develop litigation and investigation strategy with senior internal counsel and coordinate deliverables with internal and external partners.
  • •Review and recommend guidance on outside counsel work products, including memoranda, motions practice, and draft agreements.
  • •Oversee discovery efforts and legal hold notices, coordinating with the internal e-discovery team on identification, searching, collection, and production.
  • •Lead and supervise factual investigations, conduct complex legal research, prepare summaries, and support regulatory inquiries and testimony preparation.

Key Requirements

  • •J.D. degree from an accredited law school and attorney licensing requirements in the jurisdiction where the role is located.
  • •Valid license to practice law in Illinois, plus at least 5 years in full-time business litigation with experience advising clients in highly regulated industries.
  • •Experience as the lead lawyer preparing witnesses and supervising complex discovery in business litigation.
  • •Experience with subpoena and discovery responses, including document identification, collection, and production; familiarity with written and electronic discovery.
  • •Familiarity with legal holds and document management/e-discovery tools (e.g., Everlaw, Relativity, Concordance, Nebula) and secure electronic document sharing (e.g., FTP sites).
