Job Summary

Support Field Operations and the Measurement Lab by troubleshooting, repairing, and training users on ABB 8206, Daniel 500, and Emerson 470/700 field gas chromatographs. Perform gas analysis using lab chromatographs and gas quality analyzers, test field metrology equipment, and evaluate new measurement/monitoring technology. Lead training and audits, coordinate vendor/project work for new meter sites, and help develop lab procedures. Onsite role in Houston with limited (0–20%) travel.

Key Responsibilities

•Provide technical support to Field Operations for ABB and Daniel/Emerson field gas chromatographs and other gas quality devices.
•Lead training on operation and repair of ABB and Daniel/Emerson gas chromatographs.
•Lead audits of field chromatographs, sample systems, and auxiliary equipment.
•Coordinate with vendors and Project Management to support design of new meter sites, including selecting chromatograph applications and auxiliary equipment.
•Perform gas analysis, evaluate new measurement/monitoring technology, enhance laboratory procedures, and assist with troubleshooting (phone/field/online).

Key Requirements

•Engineering degree (preferred) or an associate’s degree in a related technical subject (e.g., Instrumentation and Electrical); relevant military technical training preferred, or extensive experience with ABB/Daniel/Emerson chromatograph troubleshooting/repair in lieu of degree.
•Experience troubleshooting and repairing ABB gas chromatographs (strongly preferred); experience with Daniel/Emerson online gas chromatographs considered.
•Knowledge of gas sampling systems and metrology, plus awareness of natural gas industry regulatory compliance requirements and standards (preferred).
•Good mechanical and electronic skills, with strong logical, problem-solving, analytical skills and the ability to make recommendations based on results.
•Proficiency with Microsoft Office (including Excel) and strong written/oral communication, record-keeping, teamwork, and safe work practices.
