Key Responsibilities

  • •Participate in reviewing data center MEP design and other disciplines for new data center builds and data hall fit-outs.
  • •Participate in testing and commissioning discussions to determine required tests to verify design elements.
  • •Support the DC Engineering FM team to become a subject matter expert and address design limitations and risks.
  • •Conduct periodic audits/assessments to evaluate effectiveness and practicality of designs in-use on data centers.
  • •Act as an ambassador explaining data center infrastructure design to visitors and continually collaborate to enhance MEP design for future needs.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • •Knowledge of standard power and cooling calculations to determine capacity requirements (e.g., TIA-942, ASHRAE).
  • •Understand power redundancy implementation in design (e.g., 2N or N+1).
  • •Experience with cooling redundancy and concurrent maintainability (e.g., N+1 or N+2).
  • •Experience leading or influencing design and architecture efforts through data center conceptual to detailed design (30% to 90%), applying data center tiering standards (e.g., TIA-942 Rated 3, Uptime Tier 3).
