Key Responsibilities

  • •Perform regular site inspections and field reviews to monitor mechanical system installation for quality, schedule, and code compliance.
  • •Respond to RFIs, review shop drawings, assess change requests, and provide technical support to contractors and clients.
  • •Liaise between the construction site and the design team to resolve field discrepancies and changes.
  • •Design HVAC systems (duct and pipe sizing, equipment selection, equipment schedules, and vendor coordination) and complete plumbing systems (potable water/drainage, pump sizing, water heater selection).
  • •Support commissioning by witnessing functional testing, reviewing commissioning reports, and ensuring compliance with site safety protocols.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering plus four (4) years of experience designing HVAC and plumbing for commercial, institutional, and light industrial facilities (e.g., water/waste-water treatment plants).
  • •Professional Engineer in British Columbia.
  • •Demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education may be considered.
  • •Preferred: 10 (ten) years of similar HVAC and plumbing design experience for light industrial facilities.
  • •Preferred: working experience with NBC, BCBC, BCPC, SMACNA, and ASHRAE codes and standards.
