Job Summary

Join Archer as a Senior Software Engineer on the Battery Management System (BMS) team. You’ll embed software for safety-critical BMS components, develop low-level drivers for battery microcontrollers, and work with systems engineers to translate requirements into DO-178C compliant software. You’ll contribute to certification efforts, perform board bring-up, and help optimize fault detection, DSP-based state estimation, and hardware/software integration within a multi-disciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities

•Embed development and verification of safety-critical software components for the aircraft battery management system.
•Develop and integrate battery controls and low-level drivers for battery microcontrollers interfacing with front-end circuitry.
•Decompose requirements into high-level and low-level software requirements in DO-178C context.
•Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to develop, integrate, verify, and certify complex hardware/software systems.
•Develop and implement fault detection and diagnostic algorithms to respond to hardware-level events such as insulation breakdown, short circuits, and sensor failures.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 145,000 - 180,000

Key Requirements

•5+ years of experience in a related field.
•BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related degree
•Proficiency with C/C++
•Familiarity with safety critical software development standards (DO-178C, ISO 26262, ASIL) to high criticality levels (DAL-A/B or ASIL C/D)
•Hands-on experience through the full software development life cycle (development through verification and/or certification/production)
