Job Summary

Lead mechanical design and delivery of water and wastewater projects in Scotland, acting as Mechanical Lead on WwTW/WTW and infrastructure. Manage design teams, prepare feasibility studies, outline and detailed designs, and support program budgets. Liaise with civil, electrical and process engineers, lead design reviews (HAZOP/HAZID/ALMs/SWIFTS), and visit sites to survey and liaise with clients, contractors and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead and manage mechanical design on projects, ensuring delivery to programme and budget.
•Prepare feasibility studies, outline design, detailed design and construction support.
• Produce plant layouts, design drawings and mechanical plant selection including specifications, WIMES Data Sheets, valve and equipment schedules, lifting strategies, headloss calculations and P&IDs.
•Collaborate with water discipline teams and other engineers nationwide to ensure integrated design
•Lead design reviews and act as Mechanical Lead on projects including WwTW, WTW and infrastructure.

Key Requirements

•A degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering
•Be a Chartered Engineer with a relevant institution, such as IMechE
•A proven ability to deliver engineering designs, reports, drawings, technical specifications, and calculations with confidence and precision
•Hands-on experience in delivering innovative solutions for water and wastewater engineering projects
