Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead field operations for complex construction, environmental, and infrastructure projects by providing technical guidance and oversight of day-to-day site activities.
  • •Perform testing and commissioning of Protection and Control systems on high voltage substations, including hands-on protective relay testing and validation against test plans and client specifications.
  • •Follow and lead safety protocols, including daily safety briefings, job hazard assessments, and site-specific health and safety protocols and quality control procedures.
  • •Lead field crews by assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and mentoring junior and mid-level technicians in technical procedures, safety practices, and proper documentation.
  • •Coordinate with engineers, scientists, and subcontractors; act as the primary field liaison to communicate progress, risks, and technical concerns; ensure accurate data collection and reporting.

Key Requirements

  • •High school diploma or equivalent.
  • •Minimum of 11 years in the electrical testing industry, including experience with medium/high voltage circuit breakers, power transformers, instrument transformers, and substation protection and controls testing.
  • •Expertise with transmission, generation, or distribution relays (e.g., SEL, Basler, Beckwith, GE) and protective schemes.
  • •Advanced technical skills in protective relay testing, including relay calibration with Omicron CMC 256/356 or Doble F6150, control scheme testing, CT/PT circuit testing, and static & dynamic testing of microprocessor-based protective relays.
  • •Experience with electrical testing standards and practices (e.g., NETA, IEEE, NFPA) and testing projects from 15 kV to 500 kV.
