Job Summary

Lead improvements to the high-voltage electrical system at the Channelview facility, supporting day-to-day power system issues and providing technical support to the High Voltage team. Own preventive maintenance program creation and review, develop/approve electrical specifications and design drawings, and perform RCFA for critical failures. Support engineering standards, incident investigations, capital projects, turnarounds/outages, temporary power planning, and electrical MOC activities while mentoring others.

•Support the site long-range plan for the high voltage electrical system.
•Address day-to-day electrical power system issues and provide technical support affecting plant distribution systems.
•Create, update, and review preventive maintenance (PM) programs for electrical equipment.
•Establish design basis and support engineering standards/procedures (including interlocks, electrical power distribution, area classification, arc flash studies, and NEC compliance).
•Perform RCFA for critical equipment failures and participate in incident investigations and related analyses (e.g., RCFA, FEMA, RCM) within assigned areas.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
•5+ years of prior electrical engineering experience in a petrochemical, chemical, refining, or other process-related facility (preferred).
•Familiarity with National Electrical Code (NFPA 70) and Electrical Safety in the Workplace (NFPA 70E), electrical area classification, and electrical corporate engineering/maintenance standards and procedures.
•Ability to read and interpret one-lines and control schematics.
•Working knowledge of high-voltage electrical equipment (e.g., transformers, switchgear, motor control centers, protective relaying, AC drives, UPS, generators, cables).
