Job Summary

Support testing for new HVAC product development projects in an Engineering Test Laboratory on-site in La Crosse. You’ll operate commercial HVAC test equipment, control test facilities, collect experimental data, and assist with installation and modification of developmental equipment. Working with senior lab staff and engineering teams, you’ll also help troubleshoot and repair commercial HVAC technologies while following safety procedures and applicable test standards.

Key Responsibilities

•Maintain a safe work area in accordance with company policies and procedures.
•Support product development by operating commercial HVAC equipment, controlling test facilities, and collecting experimental test data with guidance from senior lab staff.
•Assist with installation, modification, and build of developmental commercial HVAC equipment and components according to engineering, agency, and test requirements.
•Help install and use laboratory test equipment (including data acquisition systems, power analyzers, flow equipment, and pressure/temperature measurement devices) with support from test engineering and other technicians.
•Assist in troubleshooting and repair of Trane commercial HVAC technologies and equipment to support timely project completion.

Key Requirements

•Currently enrolled in an Associate Degree program in HVAC (or a 2-year equivalent) at an accredited school.
•Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); interest in learning basic programming in Visual Basic preferred.
•EPA Type Universal Certification or willingness to become certified.
•Basic grasp of refrigeration-related thermodynamic principles and mechanical troubleshooting.
•Ability to follow work instructions and applicable test standards, and communicate verbally and in writing.
