Key Responsibilities

  • •Monitor and operate engine-room machinery during assigned watches to ensure safe and efficient functioning of main engines, generators, pumps, and auxiliary systems.
  • •Continuously perform watchkeeping per company and maritime regulations, promptly detecting and responding to machinery alarms, faults, and abnormal conditions.
  • •Conduct routine inspections, readings, and performance monitoring of equipment; maintain engine room logbooks, checklists, and records.
  • •Assist with preventive and corrective maintenance as directed by the Chief Engineer, including troubleshooting and minor repairs.
  • •Ensure compliance with safety procedures, permit-to-work systems, and environmental regulations; handle emergencies (breakdown, fire, flooding) and support bunkering and dry-docking activities as required.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor's degree in marine/mechanical engineering.
  • •Minimum 10 years' experience on marine vessels, preferably on dredgers.
  • •Certificate of Competency as Chief Engineer or 2nd Engineer.
  • •Strong technical knowledge, alertness, and teamwork for effective watchkeeping duties.
  • •Ability to comply with safety procedures, permit-to-work systems, and environmental regulations.
