Job Summary

Provide engineering advice to support production and trades on the Hunter Class Frigate Program, based in Osborne, SA. Investigate reported issues using root cause analysis, liaise with stakeholders and subject matter experts, and deliver engineering assessments and recommendations to the Technical Authority. Ensure the as-built product aligns with design intent and act as a communication link between Production and the broader business while managing issues effectively.

Key Responsibilities

•Review reported issues and conduct technical investigations, including root cause analysis and engineering assessments within your domain.
•Liaise with stakeholders and subject matter experts to gather insights on affected systems and equipment to support decision-making.
•Deliver engineering analysis and recommendations to the Technical Authority to ensure the as-built product aligns with design intent.
•Act as a key communication link between Production and the broader business, supporting effective issue management processes.
•Apply established standards and engineering first principles to resolve complex engineering problems within your area of expertise.

Key Requirements

•Engineering degree or diploma qualified to the level of the role, or appropriate trades certificates (Mechanical, Electrical, Structural) plus production experience.
•Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage competing priorities while focusing on specific tasks and issues.
•Excellent communication skills to liaise with diverse stakeholders and ask insightful questions to gather relevant information.
•Ability to interpret CAD models, detailed design drawings, and technical documentation including requirements and fabrication/assembly drawings.
•Hold, or be eligible to obtain, a Baseline Defence security clearance.
