Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead planning, execution, and delivery of underground paste backfill engineering activities.
  • •Manage multidisciplinary engineering teams, consultants, and specialist resources; monitor progress, budgets, forecasts, schedules, and deliverables.
  • •Serve as technical authority for paste backfill systems (piping, boreholes, valves, pumping systems, barricades, stope delivery infrastructure) and establish design criteria, operating philosophies, and technical standards.
  • •Provide construction and field engineering support: review RFIs/submittals, support reviews and walkdowns, and verify construction against design intent.
  • •Lead commissioning and operational readiness: develop strategies/test plans, coordinate integrated testing, support operator training and handover to operations, and report engineering status and risks.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in mining engineering, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, or a related discipline.
  • •8+ years of mining project experience with underground mining and paste backfill systems.
  • •Demonstrated experience leading engineering teams on major capital projects through study, detailed design, construction, and commissioning.
  • •Strong understanding of EPCM project delivery models and multidisciplinary engineering management.
  • •PE or P.Eng. designation preferred and the ability to perform engineering computations and calculations using plans/specifications and regulations.
