Job Summary

Provide mechanical maintenance support for equipment in an electrical generating power plant. Install, maintain, test, inspect, and repair boilers, turbines, pumps, motors, valves, and related systems. Troubleshoot stationary and rotating equipment, perform machining work, and carry out welding, plumbing/pipe fitting, insulation removal/installation, and rigging. Maintain equipment histories and PM procedures using SAP, follow safety and environmental requirements, and coordinate with plant personnel and outside resources as needed.

Key Responsibilities

•Install, maintain, test, inspect, and repair power plant equipment such as boilers, turbines, pumps, motors, valves, condensers, and heat exchanger vessels.
•Replace bearings, packing, shaft seals, sleeves, seats, and other parts; repair or replace defective components.
•Troubleshoot stationary and rotating equipment and perform repairs using best practices.
•Operate machine shop equipment (e.g., drill presses, lathes, boring mills) and perform gas/arc welding, oxygen-acetylene cutting, and brazing for mechanical repairs and fabrication.
•Perform plumbing/pipe fitting, remove/install non-asbestos insulation, develop spare parts/PM procedures as needed, document work, and follow safety and environmental guidelines.

Travel: Low travel

Key Requirements

•High school diploma or GED, or equivalent knowledge of English, mathematics, and grammar.
•Minimum 3 years of mechanical maintenance experience repairing, inspecting, and/or maintaining power plant or machine shop equipment.
•Experience includes inspection and preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, fabricating, and diagnostics (or similar industrial environment).
•Associates degree or equivalent apprenticeship (preferred).
•Knowledge of environmental rules and regulations and ability to apply them in all work situations (plus strong interpersonal and communication skills).
