Job Summary

Build and demonstrate Akamai’s delivery and performance capabilities hands-on, using live configurations and real traffic rather than slideware. Design and run reproducible, defensible performance benchmarks validated by third-party measurement, and translate results into reference architectures, demos, and technical thought leadership. Partner closely with engineering and product marketing to keep the technical story current and to ground positioning and messaging in measurable differentiation across networking, content delivery, and edge performance.

Key Responsibilities

•Implement Akamai delivery and performance products hands-on by building and maintaining live configurations and demo environments.
•Design and run reproducible performance benchmarking with documented methodology, validated with independent third-party measurement.
•Author reference architectures and demos that make Akamai’s technical differentiation concrete for customers, field teams, and events.
•Maintain the technical “answer” for what genuinely differentiates the distributed network and content delivery platform as it evolves.
•Produce and deliver technical thought leadership (blogs, benchmark reports, talks, demos) and partner with product marketing on positioning grounded in technical reality.

Key Requirements

•6 years of relevant experience in technical marketing, solutions or sales engineering, or network engineering (CDN, content delivery, networking, edge, or adjacent infrastructure), plus a Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent.
•Hands-on delivery-stack knowledge including HTTP/2 and HTTP/3, QUIC, TLS, DNS, caching, routing, and peering, with tooling to measure and working scripting/automation skills.
•Experience designing and running performance benchmarks with a defensible methodology and understanding how to avoid cherry-picked results.
•Ability to build demos and reference architectures that technical audiences trust and use.
•Comfort engaging on network optimization, carrier/telco peering, route optimization, and post-quantum cryptography, and translating implications for non-technical audiences.
