Key Responsibilities

  • •Own major projects in the dual execution stack so DuckDB processes queries seamlessly locally or in the cloud.
  • •Help build a cloud platform that dynamically assigns resources to keep performance efficient across workload sizes.
  • •Lead cross-functional work with frontend, platform, and infrastructure teams to maintain an end-to-end coherent user experience.
  • •Push embedded database performance and distributed execution, advancing DuckDB internals.
  • •Debug issues with the support team using real usage patterns and prioritize the improvements that matter most.

Key Requirements

  • •Have built and shipped complex backend systems and understand what great looks like.
  • •Be fluent in a backend systems language such as C++, Rust, Java, or similar and work close to the hardware.

  • •Have hands-on experience with DuckDB (a huge plus).
