Key Responsibilities

  • •Drive and own CIB risk strategy to enable high performance across risk metrics, including governance/oversight, risk reporting, and issue/incident management.
  • •Collaborate with GCOO Risk & Control to ensure issues/actions are tracked and act as key escalation for CIB outcomes and activities.
  • •Ensure CIB teams understand relevant policies/procedures, identify and remediate procedural pain points, and support automation to improve control and risk management.
  • •Provide oversight and subject-matter expertise for financial crime risk activities (including AML), advising on exposures, ensuring compliance with global/local laws and regulations.
  • •Reassess operational risks and controls, challenge ineffective controls, represent CIB in risk forums, and provide oversight for third-party/intra-group service providers.

Key Requirements

  • •Strong knowledge of CIB COO and CIB client segments, including customer proposition, channels/operations, and key financial performance drivers.
  • •Strong knowledge of operational and business management and HSBC policies/procedures, including AML (Anti Money Laundering) and credit risk.
  • •Broad knowledge of the financial services industry and global marketplace with an enterprise-wide view of the business and governance.
  • •Excellent experience building relationships, influencing senior stakeholders, and navigating the organisation to deliver at pace.
  • •Strong experience in workforce strategy and people management, with strong analytical rigor to contextualise data into business conclusions.
