Job Summary

Own the architecture and technical direction for data integrations that move clinical and financial data between Commure and external healthcare endpoints. Build distributed systems at scale using durable orchestration on Temporal, high-throughput pipelines, and reliable delivery semantics. Set observability and operational readiness standards, anticipate scaling/reliability issues, and lead complex cross-system initiatives end to end while mentoring senior engineers.

Key Responsibilities

•Set the technical direction for the data integrations platform and decide what to build and how to execute.
•Own architecture for orchestration, pipelines, data stores, and how they evolve as scale increases.
•Anticipate scaling and reliability issues ahead of time and prevent incidents.
•Set observability and operational readiness standards (monitoring, logging, distributed tracing, dashboards, alerting, SLOs) and ensure the team follows them.
•Mentor Senior and Staff engineers, run architecture and design reviews, and lead complex cross-system initiatives end to end.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 210,000 - 275,000 annually

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent extensive experience.
•10+ years of professional software engineering experience, including Staff-equivalent architectural scope on multi-quarter projects.
•Deep experience building and operating distributed systems at scale, including high-throughput pipelines and data-intensive services.
•Strong data-layer and concurrency judgment (e.g., using relational databases effectively; knowing when to use Redis vs. design changes).
•Production experience with GCP and container orchestration (Kubernetes, Knative, or similar serverless-on-k8s), plus fluency in a backend language (Python preferred; Go a plus).
