Job Summary

Ensure reliable operation, optimization, and maintenance of S3 process plant control systems in a high-availability mining environment. Install and commission Siemens PCS7 DCS and PLC/industrial networking components, perform fault finding and root cause analysis, and maintain as-built documentation and change management. Provide technical support for Gearless Mill Drive and protection systems, monitor performance via DCS/historian, drive continuous improvement, and deliver training and knowledge transfer for automation and protection disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

•Promote zero-harm safety culture and support statutory records, safety logbooks, and HIRA/JSA activities.
•Install, configure, commission, and maintain S3 control systems (Siemens PCS7, S7-400H, Profinet/Profibus, Scalance, and associated OT platforms), ensuring availability through redundancy, backups, and lifecycle management.
•Provide technical support for Gearless Mill Drive control philosophy and electrical protection systems, including review of installations, protection schemes, interlocks, audits, and parameter validation.
•Monitor plant performance via DCS, historian, and drive systems; analyze data to identify inefficiencies, optimize control loops and alarm systems, and support lifecycle planning and replacement strategies.
•Deliver structured training on PCS7/PLC/GMD concepts and electrical drawings, mentor team members, manage vendor remote support, and compile activity/cost/performance reports with continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Requirements

•Degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Automation, or Instrumentation.
•Siemens PCS7 certification.
•Strong knowledge of Siemens Gearless Mill Drive (GMD) control systems.
•Proficiency in VMware virtualisation.
•Valid Driver’s licence; knowledge of Sinema, Sinec, and TIA Portal is advantageous.
