Key Responsibilities

  • •Monitor CCTV traffic cameras and road sensor data, confirming incidents using video feeds.
  • •Disseminate information about active incidents to INDOT’s Hoosier Helper Freeway Service Patrol and other emergency responding agencies using verbal and electronic channels.
  • •Maintain communications with Indiana State Police (ISP) Dispatch and coordinate incident and road-blocking information with INDOT maintenance and district staff.
  • •Input and review incident, construction, and maintenance events in INDOT’s Global Events Manager (GEM) and CARS database to generate traveler information.
  • •Assess large volumes of static and real-time data to determine incident facts and severity, and prepare updates including estimated clearance times for the motoring public.
