Key Responsibilities

  • •Design and implement robust observability infrastructure focused on scalability, high availability, and performance.
  • •Manage telemetry data pipelines and storage, ensuring reliable ingestion, processing, and querying for logs, metrics, and traces using tools like OpenTelemetry, Fluentbit, and Victoria.
  • •Build self-service capabilities so engineering teams and Farfetch Business Units can independently analyze, detect, and investigate issues.
  • •Monitor and maintain the reliability and performance of the internal observability stack, including Grafana and various exporters.
  • •Support integration of observability frameworks (e.g., audit, logging, monitoring) into the broader platform architecture.

Key Requirements

  • •Practical experience (or strong foundational understanding) building, supporting, or maintaining observability tools and distributed systems.
  • •Hands-on familiarity with telemetry infrastructure tools such as OpenTelemetry, Fluentbit, Victoria Metrics/Logs, and Grafana.
  • •Exposure to cloud infrastructure and container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes) and interest in observability architecture.
  • •Understanding of the software development lifecycle and experience with at least one programming language (e.g., Golang or Python) to build tools, exporters, or automations.
  • •Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with interest in continuous system improvement, infrastructure as code, and automation.
