Job Summary

Own the development and delivery of customer tax statements for European retail clients across investment products, ensuring filings, formats, and calculations meet local requirements. Lead product and venue tax analysis, translate complex tax rules into functional requirements for tax technology systems, and maintain tax calculation methodologies for cross-border transactions. Monitor and assess regulatory changes (including reporting frameworks) and drive continuous improvements through standard operating procedures and automation.

Key Responsibilities

•Design, develop, and maintain European retail customer tax statements across multiple investment products and jurisdictions.
•Review and validate tax calculations, including capital gains/losses, dividends, interest, withholding taxes, and reclaim information.
•Analyze product offerings and new venues to determine customer tax implications, reporting requirements, and withholding obligations for European markets.
•Monitor regulatory and legislative changes impacting customer reporting and withholding, and communicate requirements to stakeholders.
•Partner with Technology to implement automated tax statement generation, draft functional requirements, and maintain tax calculation methodologies and operating procedures.

Key Requirements

•8-10+ years of tax experience focused on how investment activities impact customers, ideally in financial services, brokerage, asset management, Big 4, or tax advisory.
•Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or related field; professional tax qualification (CTA, ADIT, or equivalent) strongly preferred.
•Deep operational and technical expertise in European information reporting and withholding tax requirements, including country-specific forms/obligations and treaty relief procedures.
•Strong knowledge of retail investor tax treatment across equities, bonds, mutual funds/ETFs, derivatives, FX, and corporate actions, including capital gains, dividends, interest, and withholding.
•Experience drafting functional requirements for tax technology systems and strong communication skills to explain complex tax concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
