Job Summary

Maintain and troubleshoot BEUMER Individual Carrier System (ICS) baggage handling equipment at Gerald R. Ford International Airport. Perform routine and advanced mechanical and electrical maintenance, respond to jams and sensor/control faults, and execute root-cause analysis. Use BEUMER SAC and PLC systems to monitor performance, run diagnostics, and support upgrades/retrofits. Maintain compliance with safety and quality standards and keep detailed maintenance and fault logs.

Key Responsibilities

•Perform routine and advanced maintenance on BEUMER ICS components, including ICS elements, diverters, scanners, and third-party interface equipment.
•Diagnose and resolve faults across mechanical, electrical, and control subsystems using structured troubleshooting.
•Respond to system interruptions from carrier jams, sensor faults, or control logic errors; execute resets and conduct root-cause analysis.
•Perform preventive and corrective maintenance aligned with BEUMER standards and OEM documentation, including accurate maintenance and fault-log reporting.
•Interface with SAC and PLC systems to monitor performance, execute logic-based interventions, and support upgrades/retrofits and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Requirements

•Associate degree or technical certification in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
•2–5 years of hands-on experience in automated material handling systems, preferably in airport or logistics environments.
•Eligible to obtain and maintain airside security clearance.
•Deep understanding of mechatronic systems (sensors, actuators, motors, and controls) and structured troubleshooting.
•Proficiency with BEUMER SAC systems and PLC programming (Siemens preferred) with fault diagnostics.
